Harvard Builders Club: A Hub for Innovative Leaders and Entrepreneurs

The Harvard Builders Club, an alumni initiative, has been established with the aim of empowering individuals committed to fostering innovation, creativity, and diversity. Founded by Yarden Halperin and Tomer Avni, graduates of Harvard’s MS/MBA Engineering Sciences program, the club serves as a think tank for groundbreaking ideas and a platform to establish strong connections between the builder community and influential venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and tech leaders.

The MS/MBA Engineering Sciences program, a joint venture of the Harvard Business School and Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, was established in 2018 to educate future tech leaders. The program’s graduates are now at the forefront of creating advanced companies and products, with many having secured funding from top-tier venture capitalists, and others working at leading startups and tech firms.

In February, the inaugural Builders retreat was held in Palo Alto, where members had the opportunity to meet and interact with renowned tech leaders and investors from Google, Meta, Sequoia, a16z, Greylock, BCV, and more. This gathering fostered community spirit and motivated each member in their individual journey.

Owing to the positive response from the retreat, a summer Builders Gala event in NYC has been announced. This event will be an annual summit for the Builders community, inviting other builders from Harvard and leading venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and product leaders to engage in a summit focused on learning, networking, and collaborative building.

The club’s mission extends beyond innovation, highlighting the importance of diversity and equity. Recognizing the historical bias and resource disparity in the innovation ecosystem, the Harvard Builders Club aims to change the narrative and provide a platform for all who dare to innovate. The overarching goal is to collectively contribute to building a better world.
