Michigan Ross School of Business Welcomes 12 New Faculty Members Across Various Disciplines

The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan is set to welcome 12 new faculty members spanning eight diverse academic areas for the upcoming academic year. These additions include seven new associate professors and five intermittent lecturers.

Among the new associate professors, Akshina Banerjee joins the marketing department, bringing expertise in linguistic influence on consumer decision-making, hierarchical choices, and mental accounting. Brian Connolly, an assistant professor of business law, specializes in real estate, land use, and development law, with a focus on affordable housing. Ben Rosa, who holds a PhD in economics, will teach Applied Microeconomics with research interests in empirical industrial organization and public economics.

Edward Kim, an assistant professor of finance, researches empirical corporate and household finance, particularly in banking, real estate, and intangible capital. Eric Zou, an assistant professor of business economics and public policy, explores pollution prevention economics in China and the United States. Neroli Austin, an assistant professor of finance, focuses on the intersection of law and finance, specializing in real estate and private markets. Siyu Yu, who holds a PhD from New York University, joins the management and organizations department with research interests in diversity, equity, inclusion, psychology, and corporate hierarchies.

The roster of intermittent lecturers includes Sheldon Davis, who brings a 20+ year career in the materials and chemical manufacturing industries, Stu Hart, founder of sustainability programs at various universities, Abinash Pati, whose research interests span municipal bonds, intermediary asset pricing, behavioral finance, and climate finance, Will Foss, an entrepreneurship expert with experience in AI, innovation consulting, and investment management, and David Horowitz, founder and CEO of Touchdown Ventures, specializing in corporate venture capital and innovation.

The addition of these accomplished faculty members reflects the ongoing commitment of the Ross School of Business to provide a diverse and enriching educational experience to its students across multiple disciplines.
